Description |
Deep Sea Fishing Manzanillo is world famous for its deep sea fishing and is designated as the "The Sailfish Capital of the World."
Marlin, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Yellow tuna, Bonito, Dorado and Sailfish are some possible catches.
|
Half or full-day deep sea fishing charters depart daily from the Las Hadas marina, which is less than a five minute walk from the condo. |
GolfingThree public-accessible championship golf courses are located within the area, two of which are on Golf Digest’s ten best courses in Mexico. The Roy Dye designed La Mantarraya, which has been ranked amongst the 100 best courses in the world by Golf Digest, wraps around the property (see photo), and its clubhouse is a very short walk from the condo.

Daytrips
Explore by car the deserted beaches and charming resort towns (such as Barra de Navidad, Careyes and Temacatita) along the Costalegre between Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo.
Head inland to explore the fine handicraft shopping and cultural attractions in Colima – the oldest Spanish city in western Mexico (1 hour drive).
Just beyond Colima, the postcard town of Comala offers inviting, authentic tapas bars with Miriachi bands around the main square, boasts a wonderful Sunday market and offers tremendous views of the nearby, very active Volcano de Fuego.

“The vacation was great — the condo was perfect, clean, well-appointed and perfectly located — the view from the balcony was picture-perfect. Juan, Jose, Marcos were all very helpful. Your list of restaurants proved very successful and we visited some several times. We very much enjoyed La Pergola, El Fogon, El Marinero, La Toscana, Le Recif and lunch at the Paradise Beach Bar. It’s hard to pick a favourite, but each of the above can certainly be recommended to anyone. Of course, the weather was perfect — every day. Thank you again for providing us with such a perfect vacation.”

Dining
It is truly unfortunate that so many visitors to the Manzanillo area are confined to dining within their all-inclusive compounds each night when there are so many delightful dining experiences to be had in the area.
In over 20 years of annual visits to the area, we continue to marvel at the diversity and quality of the nearby restaurants. Our guests who choose not to dine in (although the fresh seafood from the local markets can certainly make this an attractive option) have no shortage of dining possibilities catering to every budget, ranging from authentic Mexican cuisine to virtually any style of international fare. We’d be happy to make some recommendations (ie. don’t leave without experiencing La Pergola).

Shopping
Less than a fifteen minute walk along the golf course or a short bus or taxi ride is the Plaza Manzanillo, a modern shopping centre with a number of jewellery and clothing boutiques as well as a large, modern supermarket offering virtually any food item one desires.
Numerous shops selling hand made crafts are located within the town of Santiago, 5 minutes by car or in the town of Manzanillo. |
