Directions To Highview Cottage

Location Overview

From The Charlottetown Airport

  • Take Rt. #2 from Charlottetown heading West for approximately 10-15 minutes
  • Turn right at the main intersection in Hunter River (beside the large Irving Station), onto Rte #13 heading towards New Glasgow.
  • Continue along Rte #13 for approximately 5 minutes until you get to Rte #224 on your left hand side
  • Turn left onto Rte #224 and follow this road for approximately 5-10 minutes until you get to the stop sign in Stanley Bridge
  • Proceed straight through the intersection and you are now traveling along Rte #6 towards New London and Kensington
  • Follow Rte #6 for approximately 5 minutes to New London where you will need to turn Right onto Rte #20 (follow signs for New London Wharf Restaurant)
  • Drive along Rte #20 down over the bridge and up the hill to your first Left — Marks Road
  • Turn Left onto Marks Rd and drive along approximately 5 km past the large farm and small bungalow on your left to Dunning Lane on the Left
  • Take Dunning Lane down to the end where it veers Left and we are the second Cottage — 108 Dunning Lane.

From The Confederation Bridge

  • Exiting the Confederation Bridge Take Highway #1 towards Summerside, Exiting Summerside — Route 1A
  • Stay on this Highway for approximately 7 minutes to the tiny village of Freetown
  • Turn right onto the Freetown Road, which is Route #8 and stay on this road for about 5-8 minutes
  • At the end of this road at the stop sign (in Summerfield) turn Left and then a very quick Right (just past the big white church) to continue on Route #8 which is also now called Grahams RoadAt the end of this road at the stop sign (in Summerfield) turn Left and then a very quick Right (just past the big white church) to continue on Route #8 which is also now called Grahams Road 
  • Follow Grahams Road until the first Stop sign which is at the New London Corner
  • Proceed through the intersection at the Stop sign, (this intersection crosses over Route #6)
  • Follow this road down the hill through the tiny fishing village of New London, crossing over the New London bridge (Direction is towards Long River and French River)
  • Immediately after the bridge—at the top of the hill, take your first Left called Marks Road.
  • Drive less than 5 km along Marks Road past the large farm and small bungalow on your Left and you will see a small dirt lane called Dunning Lane on the Left
  • Take Dunning Lane down to the end where it veers Left and we are the second Cottage Take Dunning Lane down to the end where it veers Left and we are the second Cottage — marked 108 Dunning Lane.

From the Wood Islands Ferry

  • Follow the road signs to Charlottetown and then follow the directions above.
